Here are our current openings within the district. If you know of any high quality applicants, please share the posting!

So excited to have our new signs out in the community. If you know of strong candidates, encourage them to apply to be members of our amazing team!

We will be presenting the preliminary budget at Monday evening's BOE meeting starting at 7 PM in the CHS Student Center. All are welcome!

A special free webinar about ONLINE SAFETY is being offered by the NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking on March 26th from 7:30 - 9:00 PM. Parents are welcome to register at safernj.org for this free event.

Our language liaisons are looking forward to helping our multilanguage learners tonight at 7 pm in the high school student center. All are welcome!

Reminder that we have an In-Person Multi-Language Family meeting tonight with Dr. Hughes at 7 PM in the CMS/CHS Student Center. Come and learn ways to use digital translation tools to better partner with the schools. Parent Liaisons that will help with the session will meet at 6 PM for training.

The Strategic Planning Communication Committee is seeking your help in determining overall feelings and preferences with Building-Based and District-Based communication and the tools that we use to communicate. Please fill out this survey (https://forms.gle/YVBYD92RYC7ThJpYA) to ensure your preferences are recorded by March 15th. All compiled data will be shared with the community after the survey closes and will be used to help plan future communication methods.

We are moving the Coffee with the Superintendent to next Thursday, March 7th at 7 PM in the CHS Student Center so it does not conflict with the championship basketball game and Merritt Game Night. The focus of the evening next week will be on helping parents with multilingual communication and supports. All are invited, but especially our multilingual parents will find the evening helpful. The language liaisons will meet at 6 PM to prepare.

There are not enough words to explain just how proud we are of our former Mustang, Kai! Kai is currently a 9th grader at Cresskill High School and has self-published his own book titled “Beyond the Magic: The Jewel Thief”! Kai came to share his inspiration for the book, his writing process, and a small excerpt with the current 5th graders! What an inspirational event!!

Remember to wear your pink, red, and white tomorrow for Random Acts of Kindness Week!

Tonight's Coffee with the Superintendent scheduled for 7 PM has been moved to Thursday, February 29th at 7 PM in the high school student center. The night will focus on translation tools and supports for our multilingual families and be supported in multiple languages.

Snow days can be magical for our children but also pose a challenge for parents to keep them entertained and engaged. Here is a resource to help maximize the day with fun ideas you can do inside while it is still snowing. https://runwildmychild.com/snow-day-activities-for-kids/

Cresskill School District will be closed on Tuesday, February 13, due to the anticipated snowfall.

We have inclement weather approaching that may impact the school day tomorrow. I highly recommend that the entire community download the Cresskill Schools App onto your phone and set your phone to allow for notifications. While we will update the website, send text messages, emails, and voice messages, those messages usually arrive after the notifications on the APP. If you want to know right away, the app is the best way!

Due to a scheduling conflict, the Cresskill BOE meeting at 7 PM tonight, February 12, 2024 will be relocated to the MMS Media Center instead of the MMS Gym. We apologize for any inconvenience.

This is a reminder that the BOE will be meeting on Monday, February 12th for a Merritt building tour at 6 pm followed by the regularly scheduled board meeting at 7 pm in MMS gym.

Great turnout at Merritt's Got Talent! Thank you to all of our stars, audience, and judges that came out to support the our students and the event!

Lunar New Year is this Saturday, February 10th. As part of honoring the day, I asked our town DEIB committee to share some resources with our teachers, and they did such a great job that I want to also extend their compiled resources to the larger community for families to use. We are grateful for the DEIB Committee's mission of ensuring that all residents of Cresskill feel belonging and celebrated!

Look at the Fourth graders in action as they use pattern blocks to understand wholes and fractions. Did you know that if we use a hexagon as one whole, then a trapezoid is 1/2, a rhombus is 1/3, and an equilateral triangle a 1/6? 🤔💭

This month of recognition and celebration pays tribute to the past, present, and future leaders. Merritt Memorial is proud to celebrate Black History Month! ❤️💛💚 Take a look at some of our displays we have up around the building!
