ACADEMIC ONLINE COURSES
Students who wish to pursue academic studies beyond the courses we offer are permitted to enroll in online classes in areas that are not currently being taught at Cresskill High School. In order to do so, students must complete the application below and return it to their guidance counselor prior to enrolling in the course. No more than one online course may be taken per year. Once the course is approved and the class is completed, the course name and grade will be added to the high school transcript as an online class.
All fees for online courses and AP exams (if applicable) are the responsibility of the student/family. All students are required to take the AP exam for any AP course they are enrolled in, including online. Course names with credit and final grade will be listed on the student’s transcript, but will NOT be calculated into the student's GPA. In order to be approved for an online AP course, the student must have prior or current experience with an AP course and exam.
A majority of the approved classes are offered through Educere (https://www.educere.net/). Additional online providers may be approved based on the course descriptions.
Most courses require an in-person midterm/final exam. Please reach out to your counselor one week or more in advance before the course end date to schedule a time to take the exam.
This grade will not be used in the GPA calculation and classes must be applied for and approved prior to the end of the academic year in June.
